1. Dual-Media Sand Pre-Filtration

Multi-grade quartz sand, pebbles, and anthracite media trap suspended solids, silt, mud, and particulate matter down to 20 microns, preventing turbidity fouling in booster pumps and downline valves.

2. Activated Carbon Adsorption

High-iodine bituminous coal activated carbon strips free chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), organic odors, and pesticides. Protecting polyamide thin-film composite membranes from oxidative chemical degradation.

3. Anti-Scalant Metering & Micron Guards

Electronic chemical dosing pumps meter precise PPM dosages of food-grade antiscalant compound, followed by 5-micron spun polypropylene cartridge filters to arrest fine fines and protect membrane feed channels.

4. Vertical Multistage High-Pressure Pumps

SS 304 / SS 316 vertical multistage centrifugal pumps (C.R.I. / Algo / Speed) deliver continuous high-pressure feed (150 to 220 PSI), forcing water through nanometer-scale semi-permeable membrane pores.

5. High-Rejection Polyamide RO Elements

Equipped with genuine Dow Filmtec or Toray 4040 and 8040 spiral-wound composite membranes, achieving 98.5% to 99.5% rejection of dissolved salts, silica, heavy metals, fluoride, and microbial pathogens.

How often should filters be replaced?

Pre-filters should be backwashed daily. Micron cartridges need replacement every 2-3 months. Sand and Carbon media are replaced every 1 to 2 years, while the RO membrane lasts 1.5 to 3 years.

Why is automated chemical antiscalant dosing critical in commercial RO plants?

Antiscalant chemical dosing delays the precipitation of calcium carbonate, calcium sulfate, and silica scaling on thin-film composite membrane surfaces. In South Tamil Nadu borewell environments where TDS frequently exceeds 1,500 ppm, continuous antiscalant metering preserves membrane flux, extends operational lifespan, and reduces electrical pumping energy.

How often should Clean-In-Place (CIP) membrane cleaning be performed?
